Find the next useful check
Start with what you see in the app. These checks help you resolve common selection, recording and export problems without removing your work.
Hours and tracking
- I cannot enter hours.
- Choose a task in Weekly hours. If the week is locked, unlock it and confirm before editing. If the client or project selector has several choices, choose the intended one first.
- The total is different from what I typed.
- Check whether the input was decimal hours or H:MM. For example, 7.30 is 7 hours 18 minutes, while 7:30 is 7 hours 30 minutes. Automatic entries also use the configured rounding.
- I cannot lock the week.
- Save outstanding edits and confirm the highlighted automatic entries. Then enable Lock week.
- Automatic tracking is not recording.
- Check the task’s switch, effective work location, radius and precise background location permission. Detection can be delayed. Make a short arrival-and-departure test, then review the result.
- Two tasks recorded the same visit.
- Overlapping tasks track independently. Switch off the task you do not intend to track, then review and correct the existing daily hours.
- I need the original times behind an automatic entry.
- Use Show on an entry awaiting review. The Clear or restore hours action also offers Recalculate daily hours from completed registrations. Recalculation can replace manual corrections.
Documents and mileage
- The timesheet says there are no hours.
- Check the month first: Timesheet initially opens the previous month. Then check the selected client, project and tasks, and make sure your weekly entries were saved.
- A report does not show every task.
- Review the task selection and reporting period. A report is based on recorded entries; creating a task alone does not create hours.
- Mileage cannot be generated.
- Set a mileage rate and fill the driving distance for every included task, or enable inheritance from a project with a distance. Only days with positive recorded hours contribute.
- The mileage total is too high.
- Check whether several selected tasks on the same date represent the same trip. Mileage is counted per selected task/day, not automatically deduplicated per journey.
- A cloud copy contains older hours.
- It reflects the data when you generated it. Create the document again and check whether Overwrite same document is enabled or a numbered copy was created.
Import and restore
- Restore asks me to stop running registrations.
- Open the running task and stop its current registration. Return to Backup & Restore afterwards. This applies to both full and partial restore.
- A partial restore brought back a task but no hours.
- Include all associated hours starts off. Select the same work again and enable it if you intend to import hours, bearing in mind that matching dates—including locked ones—will be overwritten.
- A CSV import skipped days.
- Existing and locked days are skipped unless you explicitly enable their overwrite options. Read the import summary. Rows with the same date are combined before import.
- I restored a task but its location is different from the backup.
- Partial restore keeps an existing parent project unless you select it. A task that inherits the project location uses that current project location.
- I deleted work by mistake.
- Use a suitable earlier ZIP backup and Partial restore. Without a backup, the app cannot undo a completed cascading deletion.
When you need more help
Open About from the settings menu to find the app version. Note the screen, the action you took, the exact error message and what you expected to happen. Include a screenshot if it helps, after checking it for private details.
Open HourNexa support or contact support. Keep a backup before making further changes to records you are trying to recover.
